Tsurigasaki Beach, in Chiba, pumped bumpy 3-to-5 foot waves, with wind clearly affecting the overall performances. The Semifinalists were all from Australia. Crews, with a combined score of 19.26, defeated Chapman. The second Semifinal saw Michael Wright taking out Davey Cathels with 17.80 against 16.33 points.
