The Canary Islands Surf Film Award will deliver 50,000 euros to the best surfing movie made on the archipelago’s beaches. The largest prize purse ever in a surf movie competition wants filmmakers to shoot locally and with surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing and kiteboarding as the main theme. “The Canary Islands are an international reference location for the practice of wind and waves sports. For this reason, we believe that the commitment to the water sports tourism has to go through promoting activities that represent the passion and culture that surround these nautical disciplines,” explains Maria Mendez, managing director of Canary Islands Tourism Board.
