The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau 2014 might be run between 22nd-24th February, as a promising looking swell prepares to hit the Hawaiian Islands. Forecast charts and models don’t lie. A truly large swell is in the making, and will probably produce very large significant wave heights of 40-45 feet, within 1000 miles of Oahu. Although the storm is not heading straight for Hawaii – the fetch is moving slightly sideways – the proximity of the largest seas will help to make up for that less than ideal track.
