9 Lives Of An Aussie Night Rider
A SHADOWY FLIGHT
There are many words to describe what you have just witnessed. Could this be the first glimpses of surfing alien worlds, or is it something else. Could it be the new surfer’s disco….. nope. A Madman has escaped from Australia’s High Security Insane Asylum in the form of 28 year old Mark Visser, an Australian Night Rider, hell bent on charging nocturnal insanity at Jaws off the Hawaiian island of Maui.
Taking on Jaws is one thing, taking her on at night….well we recon it’s epic and quite a moving experience to say the least. The assault took place at around 2:00am.
Mark Visser who was illuminated with cutting edge technology floatation vest and board lights set out into the dark unknown where monsters lurk, with his jet ski whipper-skipper. Kudos to these jet ski riders who whip and tow surfers into these massive, mobile block of flats. There are many elements to consider for them too, as they attempt to position surfers correctly to give them the best ride possible and avoid oblivion.
Mark Visser and his team are currently producing the much anticipated documentary entitled 9 Lives slated to be distributed internationally late 2011, early 2012.
It wasn’t until I saw the pictures I realized how big it was. This project has been two years in the planning and it was the scariest, but most exciting thing I have ever done,” says Visser. “Riding in complete darkness meant I had to go off feeling. I had to zone out from how you normally ride and just be part of the wave. I am so pumped to achieve something that no one thought possible and that I was told was couldn’t be done.
We think Mark and his team are truly deserving of the Epic Title. Awesome effort and congratulations on what you have achieved so far.
A beautiful monster they did find as you can clearly see from the video here:
