Dominican Surfing Federation will organize the event along the famed Malecon at historic Guibia Beach. Guibia Beach is one of the first beaches in the Dominican Republic where modern surfing was first introduced in the 1960’s. The event celebrates the restoration of the area, beach and plaza by the National District City Council of the city of Santo Domingo, which has reopened after five years. The tournament will include participation of surfers in the disciplines of Surf, Longboard and Bodyboard, welcoming surfers from all around the country, as they compete for their place in the national ranking of the circuit for the 2012 season.
