It is one of the most important titles of the decade for Portuguese surfing. Frederico Morais conquered the 2016 Martinique Surf Pro, at Basse-Pointe. The talented young rider from Cascais defeated the Spanish surfer Gony Zubizarreta in final held in solid three-to-five-foot rollers. Morais, who had already eliminated fellow countrymen Vasco Ribeiro in the quarterfinal, was able to find his rhythm and bigger waves. “That’s my first QS win, and I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. It’s the best feeling ever! My secret today was just to be relaxed and enjoying myself on some of the best waves I’ve ever had in a QS,” revealed Frederico Morais.
