A 23-year-old surfer has lost a hand and part of his other arm after being attacked by a great white shark, at Wylie Bay Beach, near Esperance, Australia. Ross Tamlin, who was catching waves 400 meters away from Pollard, paddled to shore and called for help. Sean Pollard, the injured surfer, was lying on his back in the water, after being able to swim 100 meters in the direction of the beach. After being carried to the shore, female volunteer St John Ambulance paramedic Kylie Rothnie used beach towels to stem the blood flow wounds to both arms.
