The Triple Crown of Surfing is surfing’s most prestigious specialty event series and the most important title in professional surfing after the Championship Tour (CT) title. The competition is held every year during the Hawaiian midwinter season on the North Shore of Oahu, and often crowns world champions, and decides next year’s elite surfing club. The Hawaiian contest series was created in 1983 when the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) management removed the North Shore events from the World Tour calendar after a rupture with the local organizers.
