Mick Fanning won his first ever event in Hawaii. The Australian surfer conquered the 2015 Vans World Cup of Surfing, at Sunset Beach. The World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) is over. In a challenging final against Julian Wilson, John John Florence, and Matt Wilkinson, Fanning only rode three waves to raise the trophy. “I’ve gotten so close so many times, made pretty much every final twice but never got the cookie. I’m so honored to win here at Sunset; it’s such a tough event, everyone was going so crazy. I’m just so stoked,” said Fanning.
