Ricardo Christie is ready. New Zealand is ready. The surfer from Mahia prepares to raise the flag of his country, as the 2015 World Surf League kicks off on the Gold Coast. He is one of the new faces of the 2015 World Surf League. Ricardo Christie will be the first Kiwi to compete in the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast since Maz Quinn, in 2002. His first opponents will be Michel Bourez and Sebastian Zietz. “It’s going to be epic fun. Those boys rip so hard, and we are good friends. Hopefully we all get some good waves and the best surfer on the day comes out on top,” explains Christie.
