Professional skateboarder and surfer Kalani David, 17, posted the highest heat total of the 2014 Reef Hawaiian Pro so far, during the second day of competition, in Hawaii. David combined vertical turns, a free-flying aerial and critical positioning to win his Round 1 against Alex Smith, Santiago Muniz, and Lucas Silveira, with a score of 19.43 points. “I’ve got nothing to lose; I just went all out, and it paid off. My goal for the Triple Crown is just to have fun and keep making it through heats, putting on a show for everyone,” explains Kalani David.
