The World Surf League (WSL) will allow its athletes to compete in the 2017 ISA World Surfing Games. The International Surfing Association (ISA) and the pro surfing circuit will work together to find a date for the World Surfing Games that fits in the WSL calendar. The ISA is the world governing body for the sport of surfing, and it is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The organization led by Fernando Aguerre runs the World Surfing Games since 1964.
